The Bellingham City Council will meet in a special meeting to consider annexing the Horton and Aldrich areas. As of 2:45 pm Friday, the meeting agenda is still being put together by council staff and is not yet posted. The meeting will be at 1 pm Monday, May 12, in the council chamber. The hearing for this annexation was held on June 18, 2007 but action was never taken, although it had been planned for last December. A council member requested that I post this asap so all could get what little notice is possible.
Feel free to comment below if you know more or if you have opinions on this issue. I assume the council will allow general comment at the beginning of the meeting but several of them tell me they check this website.
Note - Saturday morn: The agenda item was not posted on the city site till about 5 pm Friday. No mention in Saturday's Herald. No mention on Herald website - nor on any of the 18 blogs the Herald now runs. Yet I had this information early Friday afternoon thanks to a council member who also called other media.
Note - Sunday eve: A helpful reader has provided the small map and the link to the public hearing.
