Three articles on NwCitizen by Tip Johnson give much greater insight into what is happening with the Bellingham Cooperative School land. Today's Herald article seems like a PR piece rather than reporting. Tip started exposing an apparent collusion between Taecan and the Kulshan Community Land Trust back in February. We have links to all three just below. And Tip tells me he is working on another article for posting very soon.

I find this issue fascinating and important. While publisher of the Whatcom Independent, we had an impossible task getting any straight answers from Paul Schissler, the founder and head of the Kulshan Land Trust. He simply played with the facts. Now Tip tells me he is having the same problem. Yet the KCLT gets great favors from our city government and local organizations. We had Taecan supposedly working with Paul to perhaps pull off a fast one to their mutual benefit. Tip's reporting seems to have busted up the cozy deal. And the organizations are now covering with public relations articles. Tax exempt non-profits have a moral obligation for disclosure to the public about their workings. These two outfits are not candid about their operations. Lets hope Tip learns more.
