| Fuel Truck Painting The Port took over fueling after throwing out the long time private operator. They said they would do a better job. Well, here is one example of their incompetence. | Tueaday, October 2 Can they get the fuel truck painted correctly? Check back.
Today, Tuesday, October 2, the Port has the truck repainted with only "JET A" on the truck. However - it is the wrong color. FAA rules specifically say the lettering must be white block letters on a black background. You can see it correctly at the top of the tank on the left, which is left over from the Alpha Aviation painting. Below is truck on Monday, October 1, 2001.
Well, which fuel does this truck contain? Explosive gasoline or Jet fuel? If you are a new fueler just hired by the Port of Bellingham, you might pump AVGAS - gasoline - into a turbo prop plane's fuel tanks. And the airplane, upon starting up, would go boom. It would be funny except this is our Port playing with matches and we are at risk. | |
