Tom Anderson considers County Exec run

Tom Anderson is thinking of running against Pete Kremem for Whatcom County Executive. According to multiple reports, he is seriously looking at what is needed to mount a strong challenge.
Tom is well known for his years with our Public Utility District and his progressive ideas on how we as a county can do better. He is, most importantly to this writer, a person who is a leader. No one ever sees Tom with his index finger in the air checking for wind direction. I hope he announces.
While we have heard of a couple other possible candidates to take on Kremen, no one has announced. In February, I wrote that Jack Louws was considering. Nothing has come of that and I've heard he has backed off. The reports about Tom seem much more reliable.

Update - four days later on Friday, April 1, Tom did file to run for Whatcom County Executive. He is the only declared challenger to multi-term Pete.
There are other names out there that are still viable. Jack Louws of Lynden and, surprise, Doug Ericksen, a 42nd District state senator. It is believed by local political junkies that Doug will hold this time around but he does want the job of county executive. Many have urged Carl Weimer, District 3 County Council representative, but I've no evidence he will run. One experienced local junkie predicts Jack will file in the last few minutes of filing on Friday, June 10 - just to make Pete nervous all week.
