Bellingham City Planner Jeff Thomas, has been hired by the city of Sammamish and will start work there on July 1. Jeff came to Bellingham only a few years ago from the city of Shoreline. He was appointed Director of Planning and Community Development by the former mayor, Dan Pike.

He will be the Community Development Director for Sammamish, a fact confirmed by city officials there. He will be joining Bruce Disend who is now the contract City Attorney for Sammamish and was formerly the city attorney for Bellingham. Sammamish is a bit smaller in size and population than Bellingham and is located a few miles east of Seattle on the shore of Lake Sammamish.

No information yet on his replacement.
