  • Elevate public safety to be a top County priority.

    • Community safety is a top priority for Pete Kremen. Pete's tough on crime stance has earned him the endorsement and support of top law enforcement authorities throughout the county.

  • Promote a strong economy with living-wage jobs.

    • Whatcom County is a beautiful place, but we must have living-wage jobs to really enjoy it. Pete will place a priority on attracting high-wage/low-impact jobs to the area.

  • Stop wasteful spending.

    • Pete Kremen will bring a fresh eye to county government operations. Pete has a record of fiscal responsibility and will diligently identify appropriate spending reductions.

  • Provide a "Customer Service" style government.

    • The people deserve to be served by the government they elect -- questions answered, permits issued, calls returned, forms supplied, or whatever function a County office is supposed to provide -- all must be done promptly, efficiently, and courteously. Many candidates claim this is a good idea, but only Pete Kremen has proven he can run a government office in this fashion.

  • Cut unnecessary bureaucracy and regulations.

    • Pete Kremen will cut unnecessary regulations, and redundant bureaucracy.Moreover, Pete will insure important regulations are enforced fairly and eliminate unjustifiable preferential treatment.

  • Require accountability and measure performance.

    • Government oversight, rules, and regulations, have a purpose -- to protect regular people and insure general interests, not simply special interests, are taken into account in policy and procedures.

    Pete Kremen will require county government functions in an accountable manner, and that high expectations are enforced.
