Absentee
count of the absentee ballots cast.
Polls
This column shows the votes cast at pollingplaces.
Total
This is the combined total of both theabsentees and the votes cast at polling places. The top line of each raceshows the official total for all candidates combined. Theregistration line at the bottom of each race show the total numberof voters registered to vote in each race.
%
This column shows the percentage each candidatereceived of the total official vote.
%Abs
The percentage of absentees for each raceand each candidate is displayed in this column. Traditionally, absentee votershave been slightly more conservative than voters who go to the polls.
Turnout
This figure shows the percentage of votescast compared to the total number of registered voters who were eligible tovote. The turnouts in the various races were remarkably even. Normally,there is a difference, sometimes referred to as falloff. Theconsistant turnouts across the primary races shows that the voters were moreor less equally interested in all the races.
