You probably can't be anymore politically incorrect than this. I would like to thank ALL of our elected officials for their efforts this year. I know, I know....it is a lot easier, and a heck of a lot more fun to snipe at, criticize, second guess, attack, file a suit against, besmirch, vilify and even justifiably critique, those who provide the bulk of our local entertainment...running our local government.

But here goes anyway...here is my gratitude list for our elected officials:
The quality of our emergency services - fire, police and medical
The care and outreach to those in need
Your best efforts to peer into the future, see the possibilities and hold a vision
Your willingness to recover from what some of us think of as occasional "ninnyism"
The progress made on interlocal activities, especially the waterfront
Keeping your sense of humor and humility
Staying focused on what is important for our community.

Now all is not perfect of course, given that elected officials are human and all (more political incorrectness?) So maybe THAT list can wait for the New Year's Resolutions.
