Laurie Caskey-Schreiber is campaigning for "re-election" to the At-Large County Council position - but she does not hold that position. She is currently the 2nd District member. A complaint was filed - and the PDC has ruled that she can run for re-election - as they say she is now on the council.

Well - anyone can look at that either way. But it is teenager logic for Laurie to use the "re-elect" theme. In my opinion, the PDC is wrong about the law. We can all have differing opinions. The fact is, a supporter for her opponent filed the complaint and the PDC ruled. End of question. But no - now the dirt starts.

Laurie states, "The filing of this complaint is emblematic of the mudslinging and dirty politics that we are witnessing …..", and with that Laurie starts the mud slinging - not her opponent Bill Knutzen. The filing of the complaint was a proper and acceptable test of what the law meant. The complaint was a civil process. It was not dirty in any sense. Her response is dirty politics.

Lets hope Laurie and her campaign advisors rethink this tactic and do not continue the dirty politics.
