Jack Weiss announced Wednesday morning that he is running for reelection as 1st Ward City Council Representative.  Jack was first elected in 2007 and started serving in January 2008.  The 1st Ward is the far NW area of Bellingham, including Birchwood, Meridian, Cordata and much of the Columbia neighborhood. 

At this time, I have not heard of any possible second candidate.  Commenters should feel free to weigh in on other possible candidates, and opinions of Jack.  There are over 150 commenters registered to post here - many of you being very involved in local politics.  The idea of NWCitizen is for us to let each other know what is happening so we are all informed. More information is much, much better than less information if we are to vote and participate intelligently in our own local governance.   This news is not yet posted on the Herald blog - where, once it is, we will be entertained by many absurd and anonymous comments.
