Richard, this article is about Homeland Security's ICE police, not the National Guard.  

The National Guard are highly trained soldiers and are NOT committing the abuses that ICE is.  You seem to be confusing ICE with the National Guard.  I think all of us on the left and the right do respect the National Guard.  They are disciplined troops.

Nothing is further from the truth. IF these people had Miranda Rights, as they are supposed to, they would have protections against sudden deportation to prison camps, and worse. IF the immigrants that you seem to all think are a danger had any civil rights, as guaranteed by the Constitution, it would not take an average of 24! ++ years to gain citizenship when they do every single thing right (or ought to be granted asylum from brutal US-installed dictators like Rios Montt - but you probably don't know the history of Guatemala and many of these countries from which people are fleeing. Immigrants pay taxes and never get refunds or social security. They pay into our system for nothing in return - except to be rounded up, many after living decades here and contributing their skills and knowledge to our citizenry, and deported, or worse. 

I'm glad someone has corrected you on the differences between the National Guard, a SWAT team, and ICE. ICE can force their way into your home with no warrant if they even suspect an 'illegal' is there. ICE can bodily, violently pull someone out of a car since streets are 'public' places - they can smash the driver's window to get at a suspected illegal. You think that is OK? Is it OK if it happens to a white immigrant, or only anyone that doesn't fit 'white?'

What happened to people coming together as humans and welcoming everyone to the shores of this country - or at least treating others with respect and dignity while they are here? I'm just curious what your ancestry is,  because as far as I know, only First Nations can claim that they're Native to the Americas. Blacks were brought over against their will as slaves - as were the Chinese and many other peoples.Try thinking for yourself and reading history.
