As one of the founders and owners of the Indy, I feel the brief article does justice to our intent and the result. I intend to write more about this experience later when I have a better perspective. For us it was a huge effort for something we thought the community needed.
Crosscut is a pure play attempt at an online newspaper by a group of Seattle investors. Some of them were involved in starting the Seattle Weekly many years ago. Crosscut is trying to cover news in several Northwest states. There is a link to it in the right column under 'Northwest'. It is worth checking every few days for news relevant to us in Bellingham.
