Updated July 25 - this posting updated as new forums are scheduled
Ham Hayes and Doug Karlberg have invited the other four candidates in the 1st and 2nd Districts for Port Commissioner to join them in a series of forums in the small towns of Whatcom County. That includes the two incumbents, Doug Smith and Scott Walker, and two other challengers, Michael McAuley and John Blethen. They have also invited the three candidates for the only other county council primary election for the At-Large position - Dave Pros, Laurie Caskey-Schreiber and Bill Knutzen. Dave Pros has also helped to organize these events
The goal is to schedule up to 15 forums in the 1st and 2nd districts before the August 18 primary election, including Maple Falls, Sumas, Lynden, Everson/Nooksack, Cain Lake, Chuckanut, Lake Samish, Tenmile, possibly more.
The forums will start at 7 pm and last no later than 8:30. Most of the time will be devoted to answering citizens' questions
