Final tally from the Auditor. No changes. Sam Crawford increased his margin over Ken Mann. The Auditor and the Canvassing Board will make a few adjustments to the counts and certify the election at 3
Final tally from the Auditor. No changes. Sam Crawford increased his margin over Ken Mann. The Auditor and the Canvassing Board will make a few adjustments to the counts and certify the election at 3 pm, Tuesday, November 27. That afternoon or evening, Dan Pike will be sworn in as our mayor and Stan Snapp will be sworn in as a council member to fulfill the remaining two years of Joan Beardsley's term. All others take office in January.
The Auditor has counted 54,795 ballots and eliminated 655 more for various reasons from the total of 55,450 ballots returned and a total of 102,721 issued. We have a voter turnout of 54%. According to Auditor Shirley Forslof, we had a huge surge of ballots on Tuesday and Wednesday. Those numbers are still confusing and I am waiting and hoping to hear an explanaion from Shirley.

Ken Mann has posted a gracious congratulations to Sam Crawford for Sam's win. As Ken says, Sam has an "insurmountable lead" with 3,000 ballots left to process. Ken and Damon Gray show a nice touch of class.
We expect the final tally of votes to be posted today - probably before 4:30.
