Earthquake near San Juan Island felt in Bellingham late Tuesday night

Did you feel it?  At 11:39 pm Tuesday evening, an earthquake lightly shook Bellingham for a second or two.  Some areas may have felt it for a longer time, as my home is a rock hillside.  Things rattled but nothing fell or broke.  But reports from other areas of Bellingham and Whatcom County may say differently.

Specifically, it was a magnitude 4.8 quake located 50 miles below Sidney Island which is about 11 miles north of Victoria, or about 7 miles west of Roach Harbor, which is on San Juan Island.  It was almost due west from Bellingham, about 37 miles from Edgemoor neighborhood and 41 miles from Alabama Hill residences.  The US Geological Survey maintains an outstanding website for earthquakes and you can get full details there.  The map illustration is from their website.

I'll update this if more interesting information becomes available.  Anyone else have additional information or perhaps a personal experience different from mine?
