The Bellingham City Council tonight passed the long debated fireworks ban. It will go into effect for next year, 2014. The vote was 4 - 3. Voting against were Michael Lilliquist, Seth Fleetwood and Terry Borneman. There is little doubt that the mayor will sign it. Maybe a dozen citizens spoke for the ban, while two fireworks lobbyists from out of town spoke against the ban.
