Where’s the Info?

Mon, Aug 09, 2010, 2:38 pm  //  Viki Warner

It's only a week until the Primary Election and it seems nearly impossible to find consolidated information on candidates, especially for the 42nd District.  In the past, NW Citizen has been my go-to site for the goings-on of local candidates, but this year it doesn't help.  I even searched the archives one name at a time in hopes of turning up something to guide my decisions, but that was fruitless.  The Bellingham Herald's page dedicated to this subject is less than informative (and I don't trust them, anyway), and the League of Women Voters page is even less helpful than the Auditor's page, which ain't saying much.  Where, oh where, is a voting north-side citizen supposed to find--in one place--information about the candidates?

To find out more information on Jean Melious, a fine and capable candidate for county council, check out her website http://www.voteforjean.com.

Vote Jean Melious to build a responsible future.

Vicki,
Maybe it is coming down to citizen-volunteer journalism to find and publish this kind of info. Wish there were more support from our state and local government.

Way to hammer us.  Well put.  My opinions will post up early this evening after Deb Gaber edits my writing and improves its readability.  Perhaps other writers will also post up their recommendations with a few words on why.
